What Is Ramadan and How Is It Celebrated During the Pandemic?

Ramadan is a holiday Muslims celebrate in Islam. During Ramadan, we fast from sunrise to sunset which means that Muslims do not eat lunch nor any snacks for the entire day.

Muslims believe that around 610 A.D., a man whose name was Muhammad began receiving revelations from God, who revealed to the new prophet a new holy book called the Quran.


What things do we do to make ourselves much better people during the most beautiful month of the year?

  • Read Quran

  • Do Dhikr (God is great, May God Forgive me, There is no God but Allah, Beautiful, Thank you God)

  • Read Dua (Supplication)

  • Read/Listen to Islamic Stories

  • Play Islamic Games

  • Watch Islamic Movies/TV Shows

What are some meals you can eat for Iftar on Ramadan?

  • Restaurants- Charcoal Kabob and Sorento and Cafesano and Roache

  • Salmon with Asparagus and sweet potato cubes

  • Stuffed Chicken

  • Dolma

  • Muluba- red rice with cubed or drum of chicken with butternut squash and peas and yogurt

Ramadan is a time of year where families come together and pray and read the Quran together. It is where we reflect on our relationship with God.
