Senior Spotlight: Delaney Sheeran!

Delaney showed up with a bang in our newsroom this year. She always had a smile on her face and something to contribute to the class, including hand-drawn decorations for the walls. Her article ideas were creative and original, and included a review of implementing sprayable condiments and how cute birds’ legs can be.

About her newspaper staff experience she says, “My favorite thing about being a part of The Stinger staff this year was the freedom to express ourselves how we wanted in our writing. I've never taken a class that was more open to ideas and thoughts than this one.” She will miss the atmosphere and the security of high school, and of course her friends, but is excited to get out on her own. This fall she will head to James Madison University, where she will study kinesiology, with plans to become a physical therapist.

As far as punctuation marks go, her favorite one is the question mark because you can use it to tinker with any sentence to change its tone to skeptical or unsure, something she is fond of doing. Her favorite food is pancakes, because she feels, “there are a lot of unexplored possibilities with them.” There may be some spray-on pancake condiments in her future. Good luck as you strike out on your own, Delaney?
