Each year at Herndon, a select group of students are specially chosen for the Buzzworthy Student Awards. For this honor, students can be nominated by their teachers, counselors, or any staff member at Herndon High, and are picked specifically for their noteworthy academic growth.
In a normal year, these students would be treated with a breakfast for the winning students and their parents/guardians, though this year that tradition has been put on hold. Instead, this year’s winners celebrated through a virtual ceremony, in which all nominated students were honored through a series of short Mr. Kim, one of this year's

The compilation of videos were compiled into a grand presentation, alongside some spare words of congratulation, including some words from FCPS Superintendent Scott Brabrand. And to top it off, the winning students were also awarded a certificate and an additional treat, as an acknowledgment for all their dedication and hard work this year.
