Governor Ralph Northam gave an update today regarding the Corona Virus, ordering all schools to close for the remainder of the academic year. Restaurants are still permitted to be open, but only for carry out. Yet, most non-essential and entertainment businesses are not permitted to stay open. Essential services like grocery stores, banks, and pharmacies can remain open, but must adhere to social distancing.
“We are in this for months, not weeks”
3700 people have already been tested in Virginia alone. The state health department reports 254 cases and 6 deaths in Virginia. Northam stated that his decisions come in an effort to limit places where people gather in large groups.
