President-Elect Biden’s Cabinet Appointments

Breaking News: President-Elect Biden’s transition team has announced the following to take on key cabinet roles. The team announced on the official transition website https://buildbackbetter.com


Secretary of State- Anthony Blinken: Blinken served as Deputy Secretary of State during the Obama-Biden Administration. He is a long time Biden aide and has worked with Biden for many years. 


Secretary of Homeland Security- Alejandro Mayorkas: If he is indeed confirmed by the Senate, Mayorkas would become the first Immigrant & Latino to head the DHS. 


Director of National Intelligence- Avril Haines: Haines has worked with the President-Elect for over a decade. She served as Deputy National Security Advisor for the Obama Administration. She would become the first woman to serve as DNI. 


U.S. Ambassador to the United States- Linda Thomas- Greenfield: With 35 years of experience in foreign affairs, Greenfield served as a key diplomat during the Obama presidency. 


National Security Advisor- Jake Sulivan: He served as then Vice President Biden’s National Security Advisor from 2013-2014. 


Special Presidential Envoy for Climate- John Kerry: Many recognize this name, Kerry was the Democratic Nominee for President in 2004. He was defeated by Incumbent George W. Bush. He later served as the Secretary of State from 2013-2017 for the Obama-Biden cabinet. Kerry will serve as the “Climate Czar.” His role does not require senate confirmation.  Secretary of Treasury- Janet Yellen: With decades of experience, Yellen recently served as the Federal Reserve Chair. Yellen, if confirmed, would become the first woman to serve as Treasury Secretary.
