The International Day of Happiness is celebrated every year around the world on March 20th. The purpose of this holiday is to shed light on what the United Nations considers to be the ultimate goals of mankind, which are happiness, freedom and well-being, and these should be a purpose of every nation in the whole entire world.
Jayme Illien is a CEO of a company, the Illien Global Public Benefit Corporation, who in 2011 began a year long campaign aimed at the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon, with the purpose of a global day to celebrate how important happiness is. Illein was an orphan who came to the United States through international adoption. He has spent his adult life helping and rescuing abandoned children. Happiness should be celebrated and people should just enjoy life and not have to worry about sadness and frustration in all parts of the world.
