Giving Thanks For a Normal Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving last week, so let’s look into a little bit of its history. Thanksgiving is a day of giving thanks. The first Thanksgiving took place in 1621, when the pilgrims who came to America on the Mayflower sat down for a three-day meal. Since then, Thanksgiving has been a tradition in the United States, where people gather every year with their families and friends and eat food.

The most iconic food associated with Thanksgiving is turkey, the main course of the meal. It has become such a staple that 45-46 million Turkeys are consumed each Thanksgiving.

For some people Thanksgiving is the only time of the year they see their distant relatives and cousins. Covid had a big impact on Thanksgiving celebrations, since Covid hit, most families had to make sure they were safe in their homes which made meeting their relatives way harder. This might be one of the most “normal'' Thanksgivings we have had in a while, giving people the opportunity to see their more distant relatives after many years.
