Rising star sushi chef, Cody Auger shares his tips and tricks for making the perfect sushi roll in his step by step video “How a Master Sushi Chef Makes the Perfect Japanese Omelette”. Before Auger made the career change into making sushi, he initially went to school for Architecture. Auger is a Japanese-American, and though he loved architecture, he wanted to keep his Japanese roots in his life through making sushi. Auger began by demonstrating what he uses to clean and prep the fish, which is just some salt and vinegar. This was probably the most in depth piece of information Auger mentioned in this video. As he continued, he favored a more visual approach, letting viewers see every step with little commentary. Despite not having much talking, Auger’s video still hit every major point of making sushi: knife cuts, what ingredients pair well together, how each type of fish reacts differently with certain ingredients, and even the ratios between seasoning and natural flavors. Auger also included how to make Tamago, which is basically a fancy omelette. All in all, this video would be most helpful to anyone who has familiarity with sushi and is eager to expand their skill set. Go ahead and check it out!
