Reasons to be Vegans

In this day and age, healthy food is all the rage, but one Herndon Student has dedicated his entire diet to not only healthy meals, but also environmentally friendly ones. Junior Moses Ijaz decided to convert his entire diet to veganism after viewing several viral videos of the cruelty that many animals experience when being prepared for slaughter.

Moses says that his adventure into veganism has been one he has enjoyed over the past

few months. He makes all his meals himself and loves to do so, especially when it's bean chili. He even goes the extra mile and prepares a plan for all his meals at the beginning of the week. One thing that Moses loves about his new lifestyle is all the new meal options that have opened up as opposed to the limited options as a meat-eater.

"This is definitely something people should try," Moses stated, "I want to convey a healthy lifestyle and healthy nutrition so I can live better." He believes that everyone can get a hearty and nutritious meal without harming innocent animals."I would change the cafeteria food, who knows what they really are or where it comes from." He then added, "I would love to have fresh fruits and veggies, not those that are served in bags."

With his main goal of becoming more physically fit in mind, Moses says his new diet has improved him a lot; he gets the perfect amount of protein and the right amount of nutrients. Lastly, he said, "I want to leave with this, if you truly want a happier and healthier life, this is the best decision.”
